A Battlefield 2042 blog post highlights key map feedback

Here comes the transparency that we were promised.

As we enter another month, Battlefield 2042 continues its free fall into the game’s oblivion. In February, the development team of DICE and Ripple Effect promised the shrinking playerbase that they would be more transparent about the game’s issues in the future. Keeping that promise, a lengthy new blog post addresses player issues with 2042the current map design.

Battlefield Community manager Adam Freeman starts with the issue of traversal. “We are currently looking to reduce the travel time between Flag and Base Spawn by moving both the Base Spawn and the nearest flags. We have already identified some very obvious candidates who would not meet our new expected requirements, but we wanted to hear from you on this topic as well. »

Throughout the post, players are encouraged to head over to the game’s general comment thread to share their thoughts and (hopefully constructive) feedback.

“Another area we’ve identified where we believe we can improve your gameplay experience is overall combat intensity,” the post reads. “Overall, we believe this issue is mostly related to 128-player modes, and Breakthrough in particular. In terms of improvements, we are currently reviewing whether it makes sense to keep Breakthrough at 128 players versus 64, or if we feel that A reduction in the total number of vehicles that can spawn ensures that their presence isn’t as overwhelming, and gives infantry players a bigger role.

The post also apologizes for the current line-of-sight issues, noting that there are “currently too many open and flat spaces, placing too much emphasis on direct long-range combat between objectives.”

The dev team would also like to make improvements to the paths to the objectives and add additional cover if needed. The following Battlefield 2042 the patch is expected next week.

Battlefield 2042 was released on November 19, 2021 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. In a call last month, EA executives finally admitted to the many failures of 2042. In mid-February, the game saw record player numbers on Steam, at one point dropping below 2,000 players.
