Tips for optimizing your blog post after it’s published

The content creation process doesn’t end when your post goes live on your site. Once it’s published, there are still a few optimization steps to take.

If you put the time and effort into creating a blog post, you want to make sure that it doesn’t get wasted by losing your post in the depths of the SERPs.

To get the best results from your blog posts and SEO efforts, you can’t stop at one optimization effort. You should visit the substation regularly to make sure it is still functioning as expected.

Here are some proven ways to optimize your post after it’s published.

After publication: internal links, indexing and length of content

The first few days after you publish an article are extremely important. You need to make a good first impression on Google’s algorithms to make sure your article is crawled.

Request indexing in Google Search Console

Typically, Google will index the article without your asking. However, if you want to make sure it’s indexed ASAP and get your money’s worth right away, give Google a thumbs up in that direction. Plus, if you don’t have good domain authority, Google bots may be looking right behind you. It’s a good idea to let them know you’ve posted great content right away.

You can sign in to your site’s Google Search Console and enter the URL in the bar.

If you do this right after the page is published, the page will not be indexed. Confirm that you entered a new URL, then request indexing.

Check and add your internal links

Internal links will make your site more attractive to Google robots. They can also help you get through and receive link juice to increase the strength, visibility, and quality of your site.

Finding the right anchor text for your internal links

Make sure you don’t use identical anchor text for two URLs on your site. Make sure you include one of the keywords that the page you are linking to ranks for as an anchor. You should also make sure that you choose user-friendly and comprehensive anchor text that also describes the topic of your page.

Check the length of the content

Make sure your site is the right length for Google and people. There are online tools that can be used for this; however, content of at least 300 words is recommended in most cases. In most cases, the longer the content, the better.

Optimize your site after publication

Once you publish your content, the job isn’t done. It’s important to optimize the post to make sure it ranks well with Google. When you do this, you can be sure that all of your time, hard work, and effort will be rewarded and get the results you want for the blog post you published.

While it takes time, making a few small changes now can have a huge impact later.
